Bright spots for H-M-S girls in 2 meets

Sprint medley team picks up win at Unity Christian

Jasmine Lux passes a Unity Christian runner to give H-M-S the win in the sprint medley relay at Orange City.

The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls' track and field team competed twice last week, at the Unity Christian Coed Invitational on April 12 at Northwestern College in Orange City, and at the Spencer Girls' Invitational on April 16 at Spencer.

At Unity Christian, the Hawks began the meet with a win in the sprint medley relay. The team of Emily Mutombo, Anna Vander Veen, Abby Otto and Jasmine Lux took first place in a time of 2:01.02.

In addition, the Hawks recorded four runner-up finishes. Individually, Mutombo was second in the 200 meter dash (:29.18) and Vander Veen was runner-up in the 400 mete...
