• Sentenced on federal charge

Henry Araica-Gonzalez, 22, of Sheldon, was sentenced on April 18 to 12 years in federal prison. He will also serve a five-year term of supervised release following the prison term.

The sentence stems from evidence in February 2023 of a sexual relationship between Araica-Gonzalez and a minor victim, leading to the execution of a search warrant. According to law enforcement, Araica-Gonzalez admitted that he filmed some of the sexual encounters on his and the victim’s cell phones, and that at least once he sent videos to the victim.
