Winter sports teams from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will enter postseason competition in the coming week.
The preliminary round of the Class 1A boys' district basketball tournament will be played on Friday, Feb. 9. No. 9 seed H-M-S will play No. 8 Sibley-Ocheyedan at Sibley. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
The winner advances to play No. 1 seed North Union on Monday, Feb. 12 at Armstrong.
Okoboji/HMS wrestlers will compete in the Class 2A district meet at Estherville on Saturday, Feb. 10. Other competing schools are Algona, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, Central Lyon/G-LR, Cherokee, Clear Lake, Estherville-Linco...
