Times improve against big field at S-O Invite

After a 12-day layoff from competition, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's cross country runners improved their times during the Sibley-Ocheyedan Invitational on Sept. 7.

Nearly all of the Hawks clocked faster times than they did in the opener at Cherokee, with some runners improving their performance by as much as two minutes.

The competition at S-O also increased, both in quality and in quantity. There were approximately 100 runners in both varsity races, several of whom are rated among the best in the state. Three girls' teams and an equal number of boys' squads are also rated among the leaders in Io...
