• Semi jackknifes into ditch
A tractor/semi-trailer jackknifed into a ditch on Monday, March 15 at 12:05 p.m.
According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the 2006 Freightliner entered the ditch in the 4200 mile of 420th Street when the driver, Dean Francis Rupp, 57, of Cherokee, lost control due to the blowing snow and slush on the roadway.
Rupp was not injured. Damage was estimated at $4,000, which included the jack stand at the front of the grain trailer as well as the driver’s side rear wheel and side step.
