GroundeD reopens Monday

GroundeD in Hartley will reopen following a holiday break on Monday, Jan. 4. See the ad on Page 6 for more details.

Pass It On Consignments in Hartley is implementing new hours through March 31. See the ad on Page 6 for more details.

Blood drive scheduled at Spencer Monday

A blood drive will be conducted by LifeServe Blood Center at Southpark Mall, 901 11th Street SW in Spencer on Monday, Jan. 4, from 12:30-6:30 p.m.

Donors should pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments. Masks must be worn for the duration of the appointment. Those without masks will be provided one.

No walk-ins are allowed. Schedule your donation appointment online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or call (800) 287-4903.

Everly Public Library to open Jan. 5

The Everly Public Library is currently closed. According to Director Amy Byro, the expected opening date is Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021.

There will be no library staff to assist patrons. However, the WiFi will be on and guests may use it from their vehicles or by standing outside the library. The password, if needed, will be posted on the front door of the library.

Sentinel-News closed New Year’s Day

The Sentinel-News will be closed on New Year’s Day. The adverstising deadline for next week’s Northwest Iowa Peach is today (Thursday) at 5 p.m.

The newspaper will reopen with normal hours on Monday, Jan. 4.

Holiday specials offered at Crazy Bob’s

Crazy Bob’s BBQ in Hartley is having prime rib specials on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Guests may call for reservations or pre-order pick up. The special will be held from 5-10 p.m., each evening.

Food pantry hours at Hope Lutheran

Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Mondays, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Please knock on the church door and food will be brought out to you.

Monday, Jan. 4: Breakfast – Cereal, granola bites (9-12), fruit, juice; Lunch – Popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, peaches, bread (9-12).

Tuesday, Jan. 5: Breakfast – Egg/cheese biscuit, fruit, juice; Lunch – Mr. Rib/bun, fries, baby carrots, applesauce.

Wednesday, Jan. 6: Breakfast – Breakfast pizza, fruit, juice; Lunch – Mexican pizza, broccoli, cauliflower, bananas.

Thursday, Jan. 7: Breakfast – Pancake sausage bites, fruit, juice; Lunch – Scalloped potatoes/ham, garlic toast, green beans, pears, bread (9-12).

Friday, Jan. 8: Breakfast – Omelet, fruit, juice; Lunch – Turkey/cheese bun, chips, baked beans, sliced tomatoes, apples.

Milk served with each meal. Fruit/veggie bar served with lunch.
