CC/E staff donned their jolliest of holiday attire as they spread holiday cheer during their themed Christmas dress-up week.

Last week was filled with holiday cheer and merriment when the Clay Central/Everly Elementary staff made things extra festive for students.

A life-sized Elf on a Shelf made her way into each classroom during the final Polar Express dress-up day last Friday.

The week kicked off with a teacher in-service where teachers spent their staff development day focusing on the topic of social and emotional learning. The remainder of the week was full of holiday activities. On Tuesday students walked the halls in their favorite color for "Buddy the Elf: What's Your Favorite Color" dress-up day. Wednesday was a Christmas Vacation themed day featuring Hawaiian clothes, hula skirts or sunglasses. Things got quirky Thursday with an ugly sweater-themed day where students, parents and staff hit it out of the park with some hideously hilarious holiday sweaters.

The week ended with Polar Express Day on Friday. Students were greeted outdoors by a peculiarly familiar life-size Elf on a Shelf played by school counselor Marlana Tewes. The jolly elf was part of the hustle and bustle of the children's final day before Christmas break. Mavericks donned their pajamas and had a Polar Express-themed dress up day complete with crafts, a movie, activities and more before children headed out the door to enjoy the break with their families.
