Curbside Santa in Royal

December 17, 2020

Families pulled up to the Royal Community Center last Saturday morning to let Santa and Mrs. Claus know their Christmas wishes.

A lot of things are going to the way of curbside pickup nowadays. Apparently, a Santa and Mrs. Claus meet and greet is following suit in keeping a safe social distance while still spreading holiday cheer.

A masked Mrs. Claus and Santa greeted each parked vehicle in Royal last Saturday with the same joy and holiday cheer as usual, this year from outside participants' car doors. The Kringle couple gave each child a gift and treat, wishing them a very Merry Christmas and photo-op before heading to the next car window.

Children didn't skip a beat with this new mode of merriment and rolled with the COVID-punches, enjoying the experience nonetheless.

The event was hosted by Royal Community Action, which has been bringing Santa and his lovely wife to Royal for many years.
