• June 7, 1945

Fifty years to the day, members of the local chapter of the Eastern Star celebrated the anniversary of the founding of Golden Sheaf chapter. Officers of the organization were gowned in costumes of the colonial period.

Construction of the new Foley furniture store building on the corner lot east of the Sentinel plant was to commence as soon as materials arrived. The building was to be one story and constructed of ceramic tile.
