Roger Lathrop, Membership Drive Chairman, announced the Red Cross drive chairmen for the towns and townships throughout O’Brien County. Local chairmen were Kermit Kloppenburg, Hartley Township; Mrs. Loretta Treimer, Hartley; and Mrs. Ed Olhausen, Omega Township.

With the return of warmer weather, the hot lunch program at the Hartley Public School was being discontinued. The program was held in the Legion Hall due to crowded conditions in the school. The Hartley schools planned to have a year-round lunch program the following year in a building erected for that purpose.
