• Faces criminal charges

Christopher Joe Collins, 42, of Hartley, was arrested after allegedly taking items of value from a home in Hartley.

According to the report, Collins was caught on a video surveillance system allegedly removing cash, jewelry and other items from the home. He was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, which is a class D felony.

Collins was also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, an aggravated misdemeanor. He is accused of using a stolen credit card to purchase merchandise from a convenience store in Sheldon.

The suspect was taken to the O’Brien County jail.

• Firemen assist at accident

The Hartley Fire Department assisted at the scene of a traffic accident that occurred on July 8 at 6:20 p.m.

The report stated that Angela Hetrick, 64, of Cylinder, was westbound in the 6500 mile of 330th Street when she lost control of her 2006 Dodge Dakota on gravel. The vehicle went into the north ditch, rolled and came to rest on the passenger side. The fire department was needed to help Hetrick out of the vehicle.

Hetrick complained of pain but was not transported to a hospital. Damage to the Dakota was listed at $2,500.
