H-M-S girls outscore Tigers, Royals to earn back-to-back wins

A strong finish offensively lifted the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls' basketball team to a 49-33 win over Trinity Christian, on Dec. 3 at Hull.

The Hawks outscored the Tigers by a 15-2 margin over the final eight minutes, overcoming a subpar offensive effort in the third quarter. That was the only period of the game when Trinity Christian scored in double figures.

"I was happy with our defense," Hawk coach Ashley Tessum said. "We just needed to be more aggressive scoring, especially in the third quarter, in order to pull ahead for the win."
