Everett Brewer, of Storm Lake, was employed by the Burley Appliance Store as a salesman for this area. He was formerly district Philco representative for the E.J. Gustafson Co., of Sioux Falls, S.D.

June marked the first month of the Clerk of the Month Contest sponsored by the Hartley Chamber of Commerce. A total of $22.50 in prizes would be awarded to the most courteous clerks. Awards were made by a secret committee upon nominations from the buying public.
