David James Moermond, 67, of Urbandale, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Unity Point - Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

He was born in Primghar on May 11, 1956, to Jacob and Ruth (Kohn) Moermond. He graduated from Sutherland High School in Sutherland. Right after graduation he started working construction. On one hot summer day when he was digging in a pit where it was 120 degrees, he realized that the guy outside the pit, where it was only 100 degrees, had a college degree.
