• Accused of driving drunk with children in vehicle

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hunter Birdsall, 29, of Royal, and charged her with OWI-3rd Offense, a class “D” felony; two counts of Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor; Driving While Revoked, a serious misdemeanor; and Violation of a Restricted License, a simple misdemeanor

The charges stem from an incident in which Birdsall allegedly was driving drunk with two children, ages 1 and 3, in her vehicle.

• Juveniles charged after Everly collision

An accident in Everly resulted in multiple citations being issued to two juveniles. According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a juvenile female was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado in the 200 block of South Adams Street at 10 p.m. on Feb. 10. A juvenile passenger who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol grabbed the steering wheel and stepped on the accelerator. The Silverado traveled south at a high rate of speed until colliding with a parked 1996 Subaru, which was pushed into the rear of a parked 2024 Ford Maverick.

The report stated the juveniles left the pickup and fled on foot. After being apprehended they were issued multiple citations and turned over to the custody of their parents.

No injuries were reported. The report did not give dollar amounts for damage to the vehicles.
