• Hartley man put on probation

Johnathan Peters, 26, of Hartley, pleaded guilty in O’Brien County District Court to an aggravated misdemeanor charge of child endangerment. Peters had been arrested in November after being accused of smoking marijuana in the presence of a child.

According to the report, a felony charge of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person was dismissed.

District Judge Nancy Whittenburg sentenced Peters to 364 days in jail. He was credited for 36 days previously served and 328 days were suspended. Peters was fined $855 and placed on probation for two years. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and comply with its findings.

• Vehicle flips onto roof

Pierson Eli Dagel, 17, of Ashton, was southbound on Northwest Boulevard at 7:10 a.m. on Jan. 31, when his 2000 Ford F250 lost traction on the frosty and slick road surface. The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported the pickup spun around, entered the west ditch and flipped over onto its roof.

Dagel was not injured. Damage to the F250 was estimated at $5,000.
