Nathan Stofferan needed just 38 seconds to win the 113-pound match against Paytan Kock of CL/GLR.
Okoboji/HMS sent both Lyon County wrestling teams home with losses following a Siouxland Conference boys' double dual on Dec. 14 at Milford.
The Pioneers dominated West Lyon, 63-18. H-M-S wrestler James Gellerman (175 pounds) pinned Jackson VerMeer in 1:44. Michael Gonnerman (126), Tyce Hanson (132) and Brennan Baschke (144) won by fall, and Alex Rouse (157) won an 8-3 decision.
H-M-S wrestlers Nathan Stofferan (113), Ethan Wiersma (215) and Bryce Ortega (285) all won by forfeit, as did Dalten Vinke (106) and Sam Bockman (190).
Okoboji/HMS doubled up the score on Central Lyon/George-Little Rock, 48-24, to complete the sweep.
Stofferan pinned Paytan Kock in 38 seconds and Gellerman won by fall over Michelet Sedam (1:49). Wiersma lost by fall to Trevor Dieren (3:56) and Ortega lost a 3-0 decision to Sam Christensen.
Gonnerman, Dillon Wittrock (150), Rouse and Nathaniel Franklin (165) won their matches by fall, while Myles Lopez (120) and Hanson won decisions.
Aidan Espeland wrestled an extra match, losing by fall to Josh Jager of CL/GLR (0:49).
Okoboji/HMS's dual records improve to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
• Fourth at Spencer tourney
Okoboji/HMS finished fourth in the team race at the Austin Roberts Memorial Tournament, hosted by Spencer on Dec. 16.
Jackson County, Minn. won the tournament with 229 points, Spencer was second with 177, Central Lyon/GLR was third with 138 and Okoboji/HMS was next with 127.
Individually, the Pioneers had four runner-up finishers, including two from H-M-S.
James Gellerman (175 pounds) pinned Jack Hemann of Spencer and Dominic Marco of Sibley-Ocheyedan, both in 1:40, and lost a 7-5 decision to Seth Stai of Jackson County.
Finishing second at 215 pounds was Ethan Wiersma. He pinned Tallen Lorenzen of Spencer (1:58) and lost by fall to Trevor Dieren of CL/GLR (3:42).
Other runner-up finishers were Tyce Hanson (132 pounds) and Nathaniel Franklin (165).
Wrestling at 113 pounds, Nathan Stofferan finished fourth. He lost by fall to Evan Erpenbach of West Lyon (2:41), pinned Jackson Van Der Sloot of Sibley-Ocheyedan (1:20) and lost a major decision to Easton Beehler of Spencer (11-3).
Bryce Ortega was the sixth-place wrestler at 285 pounds. The senior lost by fall to Sam Christensen of CL/GLR (0:44), won a major decision over Jake Schipper of Spencer (11-3), lost by fall to Taylor Vande Weerd of CL/GLR (2:47) and dropped a 3-1 decision to Jaxen Hoag of LeMars.
Aidan Espeland finished eighth at 144 pounds. The senior lost by fall to Wyatt Heying of Spencer (1:27), Michael Murra of LeMars (0:38) and Josh Jager of CL/GLR (3:39).
Other Okoboji/HMS place finishers were Michael Gonnerman (126) and Alex Rouse (157), third; Sam Bockman (190), sixth; Myles Lopez (120), seventh; and Cole Becker (138) and Dylan Wittrock (150), eighth.
Okoboji/HMS returns to action on Jan. 4 at Manson Northwest Webster.
