Led by choral and band instructor Crystal Bunge, students perform "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!"

Last week Clay Central/Everly Elementary hosted its 2023 Winter Concert on the Royal stage.

The music room was packed, with more rows of chairs needing to be set up due to the largest attendance in years. The Mavericks' concert was entitled "WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!" and it showed with their festive and fun song selections from start to finish.

The concert began with the preschool class singing two holiday favorites "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." Their red noses popping off mid-performance made for a delightful start to the program.

Fourth through sixth grade students perform the Irving Berlin ballad "White Christmas."

The band then took the floor as they had one of their best performances yet, playing more Christmas classics loudly for all to hear.

Other grades then followed suit, performing holiday hit after hit. Their festive performance kept the audience entertained throughout the night.

The final song performed by 4-6 grades student swas the Irving Berlin classic "White Christmas," which was a powerful way to lead to the end of the show. All students then gathered on stage and invited the audience to join in on the final song "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!"

Following the performance, all were invited to the lunchroom for cookies and a gift given to each child from the CC/E Title Math and Reading programs. Inside were fun learning games, educational tidbits and two age-appropriate books.
