Collins and Callie Woodall enjoyed their visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

No one-horse open sleigh or Rudolph was needed for Santa and the missus to arrive in Royal last Saturday. Instead, the pair arrived at The Great Hall of Royal via Royal Fire Department's ambulance, lights aglow and excitement abounding.

Kal McCarty thought his slice of pie was well worth his mom's free-will donation.

The venue was adorned with beautiful trees, festively decorated by the teams, community members and businesses they represented. Santa and Mrs. Claus sat atop the stage and welcomed children to sit on their laps, telling them their Christmas lists and humoring the duo when asked if they have been "good" this year.

Royal Community Action hosted the event, alongside the delicious soup and pie free-will donation meal donated by Royal Lions Club. CC/E students happily bussed tables during the meal portion of the event.

Cookies decorating and Christmas crafts occupied the children as they waited for their turn with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The festive event raised funds for CC/E Elementary's Maverick Missions program, which helps purchase winter clothing, outerwear and accessories for students.
