Okoboji/HMS splits duals, finishes sixth at tourney
Okoboji/HMS senior wrestler Ethan Wiersma is about to pin Jack Schipper of Spencer. Wiersma won both of his matches by fall in the meet on Nov. 30.
Okoboji/HMS defeated Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire for its first dual wrestling win of the season but found the going tougher against Spencer on Nov. 30 at Milford.
The Pioneer topped GT/RA, 42-30. Trailing 15-12, Okoboji/HMS won five of the next seven matches by fall to earn the victory. Spencer concluded the night with a dominating 66-16 win over the Pioneers.
Ethan Wiersma won a pair of matches at 215 pounds. He pinned the Titans' Treyton Kleve in 3:39 and the Tigers' Jake Schipper in 4:52.
