Holiday open house season in full swing
Several Christmas open houses will held in Hartley over the next week, starting with Treimer’s Insurance Agency today (Thursday, Nov. 30).

Everly businesses holding open houses
Several Everly businesses and community organizations will be holding open houses in conjuction with the community’s Winter Wonderland event this weekend. They include: Everly Heritage Museum, Evertek, Everly City Hall, State Bank & Insurance, D&L Ceramics and Custom Welding & Repair.

Everly Craft & Vendor Show is Saturday
Get your Christmas shopping done early at the Everly Craft & Vendor Show planned for Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Hap Ketelsen Community Center. The even will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Hartley Lions Club Burger Bar is Sunday
The Lions Club Burger Bar will be held on Sunday at the Hartley Community Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The event runs in conjunction with the Hartley Chamber of Commerce’s Vendor Show.

Vintage Christmas at Patch-Eeten House
Guests at the Patch-Eeten House Museum in Hartley will be treated to a vintage Christmas on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 1-5 p.m.

Upcoming blood drive at Spencer
New and regular donors can roll up their sleeves to give blood during a drive being conducted by LifeServe Blood Center. The drive is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at 901 11th Street SW in Spencer.

HLC food pantry
Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food, but masks are required.
H-M-S menus
Monday, Dec. 4: Breakfast – Cereal, pop tart (9-12), fruit, juice; Lunch – Popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, roll (9-12), mixed fruit.
Tuesday, Dec. 5: Breakfast – Egg and cheese on biscuit, fruit, juice; Lunch – Turkey and cheese on bun, chips, broccoli/cauliflower, oranges.
Wednesday, Dec. 6: Breakfast – Breakfast pizza, fruit, juice; Lunch – Nachos, lettuce/tomatoes, bananas, crackers (9-12).
Thursday, Dec. 7: Breakfast – Pancake and sausage bites, fruit, juice; Lunch – Chili, crackers, cinnamon roll, baby carrots, celery, applesauce.
Friday, Dec. 8: Breakfast – Donut, fruit, juice; Lunch – Hamburger on bun, fries, baked beans, peaches.
Milk is served with each meal. Fruit/veggie bar offered daily.
Al Anon meetings
Al Anon meetings are held at the following locations each week:
Wednesday, 8 p.m., 511 Southmoor, Spencer; Thursday, 8 p.m., Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Royal; Sunday, 7 p.m., Sanford Medical Center, 118 N 7th Ave., Sheldon.
All are welcome to attend.
Regular hours at Royal library
Hours at the Royal Public Library are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
