Food distribution at Trinity UCC

The Food Bank of Iowa's mobile pantry program will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 18, starting at 4 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. The program is available free of charge and geared toward individuals in need of food assistance.

Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles and line up on the east side of the parking lot. The food will be brought to you as you drive under the canopy.

Crafts for kids at Hartley library Oct. 23

A craft day for children of all ages will be held at the Hartley Public Library on Monday, Oct. 23, starting at 1:30 p.m. Participants will be making a ghost-themed craft.

HLC food pantry

Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food, but masks are required.

Blood drive Oct. 25 in Hartley

The next Hartley community blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 12:30-5 p.m. at the Hartley Community Center. New donors are welcome.

Upcoming blood drive at Spencer

New and regular donors can roll up their sleeves to give blood during a drive being conducted by LifeServe Blood Center. The drive is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 16, from 1-6 p.m. at 901 11th Street SW in Spencer.

Community Bible study each Sunday

A community Bible study is held each Sunday at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the Hartley Public Library. Please use the east door to enter.

Ernst staff to host office hours in area

Staff of U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) will be holding traveling office hours in every county throughout the state during October and November.

Representatives from Senator Ernst's office will be available to assist Iowans with problems or questions about issues involving Social Security, veterans' benefits, military affairs, passports, immigration issues, and other federal programs.

"Assisting my constituents is a top priority for me and my team in Iowa," said Ernst in a news release. "That's why we are bringing our office to you. Don't hesitate to stop by when members of my staff are in your area."

Constituents seeking assistance with federal agencies who are unable to attend the traveling office hours can contact one of the senator's offices directly or submit a casework request online at http://www.Ernst.senate.gov.

Please note that Senator Ernst will not be at the traveling office hours.
