• Accused of stealing from residents

Jennifer Lynn Storm, 48, of Primghar, is accused of stealing money from several residents at the Pride Group. The criminal complaint alleges that over the course of several years Storm stole $23,358.28 from 21 different residents of the facility near Primghar.

Storm was an administrative assistant at the Pride Group from November 2020 through March of 2023 and was responsible for residents’ money. She allegedly used various techniques to defraud residents. The alleged incidents include keeping residents’ money obtained from an ATM, using their debit cards to make purchases, buying gift cards with their money, withdrawing money from a resident’s account and keeping whatever was not spent.

Storm also is alleged to have altered a signed withdrawal slip to change the amount and keep the difference, took a resident’s Social Security money and moved it to other accounts to cover up her thefts, and recorded that money withdrawn from a resident’s account was used for purposes different from what was intended.

Storm was charged with Dependent Adult Abuse (10 counts), a class D felony; Theft-1st Degree, a class C felony; and Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a class B felony. She was released from jail after posting a $35,000 cash or surety bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 25.

• Charged with sexual abuse

Candido Miguel Trejo Gonzales, 35, was arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 21 on an active warrant. He was charged with Sexual Abuse-2nd degree, Lascivious Acts with a Child, Sexual Abuse-3rd degree in an incident involving a child being the member of the same household, Lascivious Acts with a Child Inflicting Pain or Discomfort, and Indecent Contact with a Child.

Gonzales was booked into the county jail where he was held without bond.

• Arrested on burglary warrant

Christy Nicole Olberding Eldridge, 33, was arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 15 on a warrant charging her with Burglary-3rd degree. She was booked into the county jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
