The golf academy was held in June at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club.

The 2023 Junior Golf Academy was held at the Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club last month. Twenty-three kids attended, with a make up of 14 boys and nine girls.

After three days of learning and practicing chipping, putting and hitting out on the course, a three-hole tournament was held. Many volunteers helped at the practice areas and out on the course during the academy and the tournament.

Organizers appreciate all the volunteer helpers, snack makers, parents and kids for making the academy a success, as well as Julia Meyer for her instruction and help.

Three-hole tournament winners included:

• 8-9 year old girls: First, Madilyn Steuben; second, Maela Krikke; third, Elise Mohni.

• 8-9 year old boys: First, Brock Tewes; second, Jackson Widvey; third, Jace Lee Holst-VanOort.
