One individual and one relay team from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn have qualified to compete at the state track meet in Des Moines.
Senior Kooper Ebel is listed 12th among 24 qualifiers for the Class 2A 400-meter dash. His seed time is :51.53. The finals are scheduled for 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.
H-M-S's 4x100 relay team, which is also seeded No. 12, will run on Drake Stadium's "blue oval" in the 2A prelims on Friday at 6:40 p.m. Seniors Ryan Borden, Ethan Diehm, Bradley Zamudio and sophomore James Gellerman ran the Hawks' seed time of :44.09 at the qualifying meet.
