4 girls vying for Clay Co. Fair Queen title

Winner to be crowned Sunday

The search for Clay County's next fair queen has been set as a four-way race.

Four young ladies will compete for the title of Clay County Fair Queen on Sunday, April 30 at the Clay County Regional Events Center.

Contestants include Linnea Bloom, of Marathon, the daughter of Stephen and Melanie Bloom; Aubrie Stell, of Spencer, daughter of Jason and Melissa Stell; Kamdyn Van Gelder, of Spencer, the daughter of Jay and Shantel Van Gelder; and Addison Wyman, of Spencer, daughter of Leah Wyman.

The contest will conclude with the pageant, including the self-expression portion of the contest and the crowning, at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public.

The queen will represent the fair at area parades, the Iowa State Fair during the queen contest, selected celebrations during the summer, and the Clay County Fair in September.

Candidates will be judged on personality, attitude and awareness, leadership and citizenship, contribution to the community, overall appearance, charm, poise and self-expression.

The winner will succeed 2022 Clay County Fair Queen Autumn Erdman, of Spencer.
