Anliker headed to state speech: H-M-S senior Jaela Anliker received a I rating at the individual event speech contest in Milford on Saturday, Feb. 25. She will now head to state contest March 11 in Fort Dodge. Her selection entitled, "Phone in in," was written by D.M. Larson. "The school can be proud of how Jaela represented us at the speech contest," said speech coach Mark Fisher.

Hartley couple welcomes baby girl

Nick and Jena Steuben, of Hartley, welcomed Stevie Ann Steuben into the world on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Spencer Hospital.

Stevie was born at 2:57 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces. and was 20.5" long.

Welcoming Stevie home were big sister Madelyn and big brother Knox. Grandparents are Rod and Teresa Steuben, of Everly; Jay and Jean Burgus, of Hartley; and John and Julie Vocke, of Sheffield, Ill. Great-grandparents are Robert and Betty Ann Steuben, of Royal; and Donald and Marleen Pearson, of Everly.
