H-M-S boys advance to district semifinal

A 20-0 start helped propel Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn to a 74-47 win over Alta-Aurelia in the quarterfinal round of the Class 1A boys' district basketball tournament. The game was played Monday in Hartley.
With the win, H-M-S (12-9) advances to play Remsen St. Mary's (19-2, 1A No. 7) in the district semifinal on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Remsen. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
St. Mary's defeated Siouxland Christian, 70-32, in their quarterfinal game on Monday.
The winner of Thursday's game advances to the district final which will be played at Remsen on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
