Points are hard to come by

H-M-S girls struggle to score in 3 losses

Getting any consistent scoring proved a difficult proposition for the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls' basketball team during three games last week.

Hosting Remsen St. Mary's [1A No. 4] on Jan. 23, H-M-S was held to single digits in three of the four quarters of a 60-28 loss. St. Mary's built a 30-10 lead by half time. Despite scoring 12 points in the third quarter, H-M-S trailed by 30 heading into the final eight minutes.

Emily Mutombo scored 11 points and Kylee Schiphoff scored seven. Adding two points each were Abby Douma, Elise Haack, Gracie Knobloch, Addison Sheeler and Eliza Tewes. The H...
