St. Paul's Lutheran Church Pastor Chris Nitzel introduces the ESL class.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley completed the fall session of English as a second language (ESL) on Dec. 13 by holding a celebration with the students and volunteers. Church leaders expressed gratitude to Pastor Pedro Lopez and his wife, Pacquita, who helped St. Paul's develop and lead the ESL ministry in the Hartley area.

The outreach ESL ministry included: meeting new Hispanic families, making many new friends in the Hartley area, meeting their needs for improvement in the English language to prepare them for better job opportunities and also learning about the Christian faith.

An ESL spring session will begin in March. More details will be released later.
