Grassley rep to hold office hours in Spencer
Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-Iowa) regional director based in Sioux City will hold traveling office hours in Clay County on Monday, Nov. 21. Iowans seeking assistance regarding a personal issue with a federal agency or wishing to share views on matters of federal policy may stop by during the scheduled hours.
Grassley will be represented by his regional director, Jacob Bossman, and he will not be in attendance.
Grassley’s state offices regularly help constituents contact federal agencies to resolve problems with Social Security payments, military service matters, immigration cases and other issues. Iowans can also seek assistance via Grassley’s website.
Bossman will meet with constituents from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the main floor conference room at Spencer City Hall, 101 West 5th St.
Regular hours at Royal library
Hours at the Royal Public Library are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Food pantry at Hope Lutheran
Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food, but masks are required.

Poetry recital is today at HPL
The Hartley Poets Group will hold its annual fall poetry recital on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 2-4 p.m., at the Hartley Public Library.
All poets and the public are encouraged to attend. An open mic will be included in the program, and beverages and a snack will be provided.
Fitness center hosting Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
Hartley Health & Fitness Center will host its 2nd Annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 8 a.m.

Documentary to be shown at HPL
The Hartley Public Library will host a screening of the documentary “Dinosaur 13” on Monday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The documentary details the incredible true story of a T-Rex fossil named “Sue” that was found in South Dakota.
Two years after the discovery of “Sue,” the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton found to date, government officials seized the remains and claimed that “Sue” was stolen from federal land. Paleontologists, landowners and the U.S. government turned against each other to all stake their claim to this legendary dinosaur.
Service of Remembrance is Nov. 28 in Spencer
Warner Funeral Home, Avera @ Home of Spencer Hospital, Abben Cancer Center and area churches are again sponsoring a Candlelight Service of Remembrance for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one.
The service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at Foundation Church, 1410 West 18th Street in Spencer.
