CMI holds 30th Annual Firemen's Golf Benefit

Over $5K raised for local fire departments

Century Mutual Insurance Association on July 13 held its annual Firemen's Golf Benefit Tournament. This year's event was held at the Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club in Hartley. Century Mutual sponsors the event with all entry fees from the teams being distributed to the fire department of their choice.

Golf started at 9:30 a.m., with 88 golfers comprising 22 teams teeing off.

The annual event is an 18-hole tournament which is held to benefit the local area volunteer fire departments. This year's event raised $5,095 for the local departments, which was split among 15 local fire departments.

Prins Plumbing & Heating, Treimer's Insurance Agency, United Community Bank, Savings Bank and Hartley Fire Department all sponsored teams for the Hartley Fire Department.

State Bank Insurance sponsored a team for the Everly Fire Department.

The winning team was sponsored by Prairie View, of Sanborn, who turned in a score of 62 strokes. A putting contest, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, refreshments and prizes were also part of the day's events.
