The Junior Golf Academy at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club near Hartley had 26 junior golfers this year.

The academy was held each Wednesday in June with the fourth week being a three-hole tournament. There were many helpful volunteers who helped the kids with chipping, putting and driving range as well as make cookies for the snacks at the end of each day.

The Junior Golfers loved getting out on the course and learning about golf, and the instructors enjoyed teaching them. Instructors noticed marked improvement during the month-long camp.

Medal winners from the tournament are listed below.

Girls ages 8-12: first place, Madilyn Steuben; second place, Erin Schierholz; third place, Ellie Vogt.

Boys ages 8 and 9: first place, Dustin Roelfs; second place, Hoyt Ahrenstorff; third place, Brayden Renken.

Boys ages 10-12: first place, Hunter Ahrenstorff; second place, Paxton Krikke, third place, Righardt de Winnaar

Ages 13-15: first place, Jordan Wallenburg; second place, Parker Russell; third place, Riley Russell.
