A season of ups and downs for H-M-S

Baseball team shows growth despite not meeting its goals

The 2022 baseball season started on an up note for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and a 3-2 record in the final five regular season games was a plus. But the Hawks also suffered through a 10-game losing streak and endured an inning that seemed would never end during district play.

The combined result was a record of 5-15 overall and 2-8 in the War Eagle Conference.

"Looking back, it was definitely a season of ups and downs," said Hawk coach Jeremy Gloden. "We didn't quite reach the marks we had set for ourselves but I saw a lot of improvement from several guys. We will look to build on that moving...
