Big inning costs H-M-S in regional loss to Generals

A seven-run second inning gave Sibley-Ocheyedan all the scoring it needed to hand Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn an 11-2 loss in a Class 2A regional softball quarterfinal game July 6 at Ocheyedan.

S-O had answered H-M-S's run in the first inning to take a 2-1 lead. The Generals started things in the second inning with three straight hits, followed by an error, a walk and two hit batters that led to five runs. A pair of infield groundouts built S-O's advantage to 9-1.
