A graveside service for Beverly J. Kraft, of Pleasant Hill and formerly of Holstein and May City, was held Friday, June 24, 2022, in the Liberty Cemetery at Calumet. Chris Friest officiated. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Holstein assisted with the arrangements.

Beverly Jean Kraft was born in Hartley on July 15, 1942, the daughter of Robert Albert and Francis Vivian Peters. Beverly worked at Red's Café in Hartley. She was a stay-at-home mom while her kids were growing up near Calumet. Beverly worked 26 years at Prairie View Nursing Home as a CNA/CMA until she retired in 2005.

Beverly was united in marriage with Mickey Joe Kraft, of May City, on May 25, 1996 in Primghar. They resided in their home in May City.

Beverly was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in May City. She enjoyed visiting with her family, sewing and quilting, coffee with the May City gang, camping and riding with Mickey on his Goldwing.

On Monday June 20, 2022, Beverly took the train home, as her grandson said, with family by her side at the Genesis Senior Living Center in Des Moines, at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by husband, Mickey Kraft; first husband, Jim L. Miller; parents, Robert and Francis Peters; parents-in-law, Mildred and Elmer Kraft; and sister, Shirley Miller.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Edna Shuck, of Spencer; children: Jimmy L. Miller (Deb), of Schaller; Mary Reisdorph (Rex), of Pleasant Hill; and Dale Miller (Brenda), of Calumet; grandchildren: Jason Miller (Jacque), of Cherokee; Jenny Bailey (Mike), of Schaller; Justin Miller, of Battle Creek; David Friest (Chris), of Des Moines; Ashley Rothmeyer (Kyle), of Grimes; Cassondra Reisdorph, of Des Moines; Neil Nelson (Amber), of Dallas Center; and Tate Nelson (Michele), of Wayne, Neb.; 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by bonus kids: Michael Kraft (Barb), of Jacksonville, Fla.; Mitzi Glade (Dwight), of Ocheyedan; and Melissa Elsing (Sean), of Worthington, Minn.; nine bonus grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
