2 H-M-S students vying for 2022 O'Brien County Fair crowns

Judging for the 2022 O'Brien County Fair Royalty was held Sunday, June 5 at Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar. The candidates were judged by Sara Carlson, Janell Heimgartner and Becky Lickiss.

Candidates participated in individual and group interviews. This year's queen candidates include: Samantha Wilbur, of Primghar; Payton Farquhar, of Sutherland; Makenzie Meyer, of Paullina; Madisen Fischer, of Sheldon; Grace Furhmann, of Paullina; and Morgan Grooters, of Sanborn. King candidates are Jackson Albert, of Hartley; Dain Moermond, of Sutherland; and Grant Wagner, of Primghar.

Albert is a 2022 graduate of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School, while Grooters will be a senior this fall.

Coronation will be held Monday, July 25 at 8 p.m., at the Wayne Maass Memorial Stage on the fairgrounds in Primghar. This year's royalty will be crowned by 2021 Queen Kaeley Einck, King Jason Wittrock and Princess Sydney Zeutenhorst.

The O'Brien County Fair runs July 23-28.
