Course proves challenging at regional meet

H-M-S girls finish sixth in first-round play at Primghar

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn saw its girls' golf season come to an end on May 13 during Class 1A regional first-round play at Primghar Golf and Country Club.

The Hawks finished sixth among eight competing teams with a combined score of 450, and did not qualify to advance to the finals.

"We knew going into regionals that the Primghar course would be a challenge for us. We definitely could have shot better, but as a whole I was proud of the girls," said Hawk coach Cheryl Kroese.

Gracie Knobloch recorded the highest individual finish for H-M-S, finishing 13th with an 18-hole score of 106 (57-49). Al...
