The top tiara changed heads Sunday at the World's Greatest County Fair.

Autumn Erdman, of Spencer, won the crown during the seven-person contest. She succeeds Gabbi Carpenter, of Royal, who held the throne for the past year.

Erdman is daughter of Terry and Jolene Hansen and Bob Erdman. She has been extremely active in 4-H and the fair, currently serving as president of the Meadow Motivators 4-H Club as well as vice president of the Clay County 4-H Council.

Erdman is a member of FFA and has served as secretary and vice president of her chapter. She's active in her church, too, and has volunteered her time for community causes and gone on a mission trip to Mexico City with her church.

Kamdyn Van Gelder, of Spencer, won First Runner-up on Sunday. Other contestants included Rebekah Buettner, of Webb; Lizzy Findling, of Royal; Bri Holt, of Spencer; Laci Seymour, of Spencer; and Ellie Wallace, of Spencer.

Candidates were judged on personality, attitude and awareness, leadership and citizenship, contribution to the community, overall appearance, charm, poise and self-expression. Erdman will now represent the fair at area parades, the Iowa State Fair during the queen contest, selected celebrations during the summer, and the Clay County Fair in September.
