Top 3 finishes add up to best result of season

81 points gives H-M-S girls fourth place at Hawk Relays

Kylee Schiphoff takes the baton from Anna Vander Veen to begin the second leg of the 4x200 relay. H-M-S finished fifth in the race.

Individuals and relay teams from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn placed in the Top 3 in nine events at the Hawk Relays on April 22. Those results combined to give the Hawk girls 81 points and a fourth-place finish among the eight teams.

Emily Mutombo started things for H-M-S with a winning effort in the long jump. Her best attempt measured 15'3".

Mutombo then joined Abby Otto, Lydia Harders and Jasmine Lux in a winning effort in the distance medley relay. The quartet ran the 1600-meter race in a time of 4:33.22.
