Get your baskets ready – it's that time of year again!

Three community egg hunts are planned in Hartley, Everly and Royal next month. As always, local kids are encouraged to turn out with sharp eyes and big baskets.

Royal: The first egg hunt is slated for Saturday, April 9 in Royal. Hosted by Royal Community Action, things kick off at 10 a.m. in Royal City Park. Kids ages 0-12 are invited, and everyone will get a chance to meet the Easter Bunny during the event.

Hartley: As is tradition, The City With a Heart's big hunt will be held at Community Memorial Health Center and is co-sponsored by the facility and I.E.F Club, as well as other local businesses. The event is slated for Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. Participants are asked to park in the Grace Fellowship parking lot.

Children ages 0-10 will be divided into age brackets, with special awarded prizes in each bracket. Hunters should bring a basket or sack to collect eggs.

Everly: Everly's big hunt will also take place on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. The event will be held at Everly Community Park and is for kids age 10 and under. The Clay County Countrymen 4-H Club and the Everly Lions Club are co-sponsoring the event.
