The Hartley band mothers planned to serve meals at the Legion Hall for contestants at the district music contest. They expected to serve 800 meals during the two-day event. The mothers were asking for donations of homemade pies that would be served with the meals.
Abel Anderson, the senior member of the Hartley school board, was elected president at the reorganizational meeting. Harry Olhausen was the only new board member.
