Neil Norman Lux, son of Norman and Myrna Lux, was born July 2, 1970 in Sioux City. Neil attended Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Schools and graduated in 1989. He was currently driving feed truck for CFE and absolutely loved it. Neil was married to Lori (Schuette) Lux on Nov. 10, 2006. They made their homes in Sioux Center, Maurice and had just settled in Hartley last fall. Lori was the love of Neil’s life.

Neil grew up in Hartley on the family farm north of town. He loved working on the farm, raising cattle, pigs, chickens and turkeys with the family, and playing sports in high school. After graduation Neil attended NCC to be an electrician. Through the years Neil worked as a farmer, electrician, at Pella Windows, at the Rent-All in Sioux Center, and from there started trucking feed all over northwest Iowa.

Neil absolutely loved to truck and meet new people while doing so. He was known as the guy who would take the shirt off his back for you and give you a call at 3 a.m. to keep you going, along with him, on the road late at night. You could always expect an early snap from Neil in the truck, car or golf cart saying, “Mornin!” He wasn’t afraid of hard work, and was a diehard Vikings, Iowa State, Tony Stewart, Coors and squirrels lover. He also was an avid hands and foot card player, and could get a little bitter if he didn’t win!

As much as Neil loved trucking and all his wonderful friends from over the years, Lori, his parents, siblings and nieces and nephews were his pride and joy. When he met Lori, Neil’s life changed for the good forever. She made him eternally happy. Neil also thrived watching his nephews and nieces grow and participate in sports and other activities, and made as many as he possibly could when he wasn’t working. He was a wonderful son, an awesome brother, an amazing uncle and the best husband he could be to Lori.

Neil passed away at the age of 51, at Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Jan. 6, 2022.

Those left to cherish in his memory are his wife of 15 years, Lori, of Hartley; parents, Norman and Myrna Lux, of Hartley; siblings: Robin (Al) Sindt, Lucas and Emily, of Everly; Nicole (Kelly) Roder, Eric and Keely, Jackson, Alic and Preston, of Rock Valley; and Ryan (Kim) Lux, Owen, Ian, Finley and Mara, of Norwalk; stepdaughters, Tina (Bruce) Koerselman, Brooke and Nick, Brielle and Tyler; Megan (Matt) Niemeyer, Karter and Aspen; and Whitney (Jesse), Ty, Keegan, Braden and Jace; sister-in-law, Susan (Gayle) Henrich; sister-in-law, Sandra (Dennis) Kroeger; brother-in-law, Dennis (Joan) Schuette; aunt, Therese Lux; cousins and other nieces and nephews.
