Angels, wise men and shepherds helped tell the story of Jesus' birth last Sunday at HLC's Sunday School Christmas program.

The youth at Hope Lutheran Church of Everly gathered last Sunday to perform two Christmas programs for the congregation.

Mother Mary and Joseph joyfully carry their newborn son Jesus, the savior of the world, during Hope Lutheran Church's Christmas program last Sunday.

The first was performed by HLC's preschool and kindergartners as they acted in the play "The Littlest Christmas Tree." The story depicted a little tree saddened at the fact that he had not been chosen as anyone's Christmas tree. Bunnies and birds happily helped the little tree by adorning him with feathers and berries to be the beautiful Christmas tree he had always longed to be. A star shone overtop him to complete his transformation into the perfect holiday tree for their woodland Christmas.

Following the younger children's performance was the 1-6 grade program titled "The New Star." The children told of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the birth of our Savior. The faith and grace Mary showed in her devotion to the Lord and the hope and love God gifted us in the greatest gift we have ever been given, His son Jesus, born of the virgin Mary to save God's people.

Following both programs, there was a fellowship birthday party, complete with cake and refreshments, to celebrate Jesus' birth.
