Two H-M-S Middle School teams placed at the 2021 Middle School State Bowling Championship held in Ames at Perfect Games earlier this year.

Taking first in the Co-ed Team Division were Eli Mastbergen, Kaidence Shaffer, Mahkenzie Mattingly and Jack Mastbergen.

Placing second in the Boys Team Division were Dominic Tripp, Braden Niichel, Mykle Meyers and Parker Russell with a team score of 1,407 pins.

Taking first in the Co-ed Team Division were Eli Mastbergen, Kaidence Shaffer, Mahkenzie Mattingly and Jack Mastbergen with a team score of 1,578 pins.

Middle school bowling is an eight-week program in March and April where students practice a couple nights a week at Locomotion Lanes in Sanborn and compete in local middle school competitions in the area. The H-M-S team is coached by Bert Van Dam, Eric Mastbergen and Todd Venenga.

Middle School bowling season is set to kick off again March 1, 2022.
