The theme of this fall's show was "The Elements" and featured "Firework," "Smoke on the Water" and "Learn to Fly." The 44-member band also presented an encore performance, some of the tunes they play in the stands, pep calls and the school song.

This fall marked the first time since 2009 that H-M-S participated in marching competitions. The band marched in parade and field events at Algona Band Days and then at the state marching band festival where they received a Division III rating.

Director Corgan Petersen said the students watched other bands at those events and are motivated to improve their performances in the future.

The eight-member flag corps was led by Kory Voss.
