H-M-S net season draws to a close

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn closed out the 2021 volleyball season with a 3-0 loss to Boyden-Hull in the quarterfinal round of the Class 2A regional tournament.

The Hawks finished the year with a record of 2-17, with both wins coming in five-set matches against Harris-Lake Park and Sioux Central. H-M-S finished 10th in the War Eagle Conference with a record of 1-9.

"We obviously would have liked more marks in the W column," Hawk coach Cheryl Kroese acknowledged. "I'm proud of the girls for continuing to work hard throughout the season and getting the win in the postseason."
