The repertoire for the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn concert choir's fall performance featured selections from around the world and even one that had no words. The concert was presented on Oct. 19 in the high school gym.

Two seniors were spotlighted to begin the concert. Marie Hicks sang "Temporary Home" and Jasmine Lux performed "Rainbow."

The choir's first selection was "Bonse Aba," a traditional Zambian song. Bryanca Holtz was the soloist and Aiden Bush accompanied on the congas.

Following "How Can I Keep from Singing," the 46-member choir sang "Nyon Nyon." Director Kristi Wingert said the selection had no words that meant anything, but was an exploration of what the human voice is capable of producing.

Featured on the final selection, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," was a small group comprised of Jamie Diaz, Natalie McDaniel, Juliana Pasillas, Jaela Anliker, Dawson Niichel, Hicks, Holtz and Lux, with Diaz as the soloist.

Niichel, a freshman, was recognized for being selected to perform in the Opus Honor Choir on Nov. 18.

The choir will participate in the high school's Veterans Day program at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 and will perform at the holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m.
