Ryan L. Palmer, 43, Sibley

A funeral service for Ryan L. Palmer was held Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, with Pastor Heather Kraai officiating. Jurrens Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Ryan Lee Palmer was born July 3, 1978, in Rifle, Colo., the son of Ray and Elaine (Van Rooyen) Palmer. He grew up in Melvin and graduated from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School in 1996.

On June 5, 2010, he was united in marriage to Miranda Giugler in Sibley. To this union two children were born, Elizabeth and Rylan.

The couple made their home in Sibley and Ryan worked for Demco for a time and most recently worked for Farmers Co-op Society. Ryan enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, playing video games and especially loved spending time with his family.

Ryan died on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, from injuries sustained in a truck accident near Sioux City, at the age of 43.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Miranda Palmer, and his daughter, Elizabeth, of Sibley; four siblings: Sam (Ellie) Palmer, of Alvord; Evan (Angie) Palmer, of Sheldon; Garrett (Brenna) Werlinger, of Princeton, Minn.; and Joanna Werlinger, of Marion; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.


Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Werlinger; maternal grandparents, Harvey and Joan Van Rooyen; and his son, Rylan Palmer.
