• Semi rolls into ditch

A Primghar man received minor injuries when the semi he was driving rolled into a ditch on 400th Street, at 3 a.m. on Sept. 7.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Primghar MercyOne Hospital that Denton Carl Starkweather, 60, of Primghar, had been transported there by private party for treatment of minor/non-incapacitating injuries sustained in an accident. Starkweather later told a deputy that he was backing on a gravel road when his trailer went into the ditch, causing the semi-tractor and loaded tanker trailer to flip over.

Damage to the 2016 Freightliner Cascadia and trailer was estimated at $75,000.
